L’Oréal does it again. They’re created the mascara to end all other mascaras.
I’m a L’Oréal mascara junkie, and that’s no secret. If you’ve checked out my recent post all about my top 10 favorite drugstore mascaras, then you’ll know that L’Oréal has provided me with plenty of winners throughout the years.
But being completely honest with you, I haven’t been using my L’Oréal mascara collection as often as I used to. I began getting bored after using similar mascaras for years, and so I turned to Urban Decay for a while, and it quickly became my favorite.
Why am I telling you this in a L’Oréal review? Because that Urban Decay mascara is expensive and replacing it every three months made my wallet very, very sad. L’Oréal may have just created a mascara that blows the high-end stuff out of the water, with the convenience of being found at the drugstore!

L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara (L’Oréal Lash Paradise)
I picked up my L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara at Target, but that’s hardly the only place you’ll find it. Pretty much any drugstore, as well as Amazon will have it readily available. I paid $8.99 for mine, which seems to be a pretty average price. At the time of this post, Amazon is the least expensive place I’ve seen to purchase this mascara, at $8.54.
You receive 0.28 fl. oz. of product in the tube. This is pretty average for a mascara, though it is actually slightly more than the original L’Oréal Voluminous which comes in at 0.23 fl.oz.

I love the packaging!
Okay, I know packaging should be the least of my worries, and it is. However, I’d be lying if I said attractive packaging plays no part in my morning makeup decision making.
Something about the rose-gold-pink tube fits so well into my makeup lifestyle. It looks so sleek, elegant and it’s just something I want to reach for when I’m getting ready.
If you’re deep into the makeup world like I am, you may notice similarities between L’Oréal Lash Paradise’s packaging and a certain other rather unmentionably-named mascara. Was L’Oréal channeling said mascara? Probably. Are the formulas similar? Sure seems like it.
That fluffy brush, tho!
I think I’ve finally learned that I just like big, fluffy mascara brushes. If I’m applying mascara, I want my lashes visible from space, or at least a few meters away. (Don’t get me started on “natural” mascaras.)
The large brush grabs onto lots of product from the tube so you don’t have to keep re-redipping. The plentiful bristles help coat each lash while simultaneously brushing through the lashes so they don’t stick together and make you look like you have three jumbo lashes. I mean, “The Three Caballeros” is fun, but you don’t want your lashes looking like them.
Wet formula works well with the brush
I don’t have a preference for wet or dry mascara formulas. It’s all about the brush for me. This formula is on the wetter side, but it is not excessive by any means.
You can see what I mean in the photo above. Product visibly sits on the brush, but there aren’t any globs of product waiting to sabotage your makeup.
She’s a one coat wonder
You can easily see the difference one coat makes! The first photo above shows my natural lashes with no product. The second photo shows my lashes after applying one solid coat of mascara to my upper and lower lashes. As you can see, there’s quite a huge difference already.
The bottom photo shows two coats, and my lashes look fabulous if I do say so myself. They look full and dark, but not spidery and gunky. If I want to, I can even build it up a little more than this and give myself a look that is as close to a pair of falsies as I can get!
Holds up well throughout the day
Of course, looking pretty in the morning means nothing if your face ends up looking tragic by early afternoon. With how beautiful L’Oréal Lash Paradise made my lashes in the morning, I was rooting hard for it to successful all day long.
Flaking // I noticed absolutely no flaking with this mascara. Even after wearing the mascara for 10 hours and itching my eyes a bit throughout the day, there wasn’t a flake by makeup removing time. Granted, flaking is not my biggest issue, but it was still nice to see that L’Oréal Lash Paradise excelled in this department.
Smudging // I did notice a tiny bit of smudging along my lower lash line, but it wasn’t bad, and it’s nothing I would discredit the mascara for. I’m just oily; it’s something I struggle with. I have yet to find a non-waterproof mascara that doesn’t smudge at all throughout the day. It’s not ideal, but I just keep a makeup remover pen on hand to tidy up and everything is fine.
Keeping the curl // My lashes are pretty spunky with nothing on them. As you can see in the naked lashes photo, they have a bit of natural curl to them. Lots of mascaras make my lashes look full and gorgeous for a while, but eventually weight them down and negate my natural curl. I like volume, but not at my spunky lashes’ expense.
L’Oréal Lash Paradise manages to give me all the volume I could ever want, and I don’t have to watch my lashes get droopier and droopier as the day goes on. If you have super straight lashes that lose their curl or get weighed down easily, then I think you’ll really enjoy this.
Will I repurchase?
Definitely!
More than that, L’Oréal Lash Paradise is now the mascara to beat whenever I try out new ones. For a while it was my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, but that one has been dethroned.
I think I’ve found a new life long favorite. She is a permanent fixture in my makeup collection from now on. I highly recommend you try it!
That’s all for today!
