Perhaps you have a holy grail eyebrow product. Perhaps this product contains 0.003 oz worth of pencil and costs $23. I’m not naming names.
We all know that “eyebrows frame your face,” and that we should apparently spare no expense when it comes to grooming them. But there has to be a more economical way.
After that-brand-that-shall-not-be-named suddenly made everyone obsess over their eyebrows, drugstore eyebrow products started popping up everywhere. And they were… not great. It took a while for drugstore brands to hit their stride, but now there is a good selection of quality eyebrow products for much less money than the godmother of eyebrows is asking for.
These are my top picks from the drugstore to keep your eyebrows looking in tip-top-shape!
*UPDATED: New eyebrow products have been released since this post was originally published. In order to keep this info current and super helpful, I have changed some of my top drugstore brow product picks to keep up with the times. I plan on updating consistently as new products are released!

Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Define and Fill Duo
This drugstore eyebrow product has been a favorite of mine for years, and I still haven’t found anything else quite like it. It has a medium-thickness pencil on one end and a powder-dipped sponge applicator on the other. The pencil is on the dry side, making it great for defining and drawing on little faux brow hairs. Then I use the powder side to blend it all together. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

NYX Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pomade Pencil
It is what it says it is- a pomade in pencil form. The creamy texture goes on easily but also dries down rapidly, so you’ll need to make quick work of the blending with that super adorable little brush. This wouldn’t be my everyday go-to, but I can see it being a great travel option when you want to wear heavier makeup without actually packing heavier makeup. Pomade-jar-plus-brush not necessary! | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

NYX Micro Brow Pencil
If you want the ultimate dupe, then NYX Micro Brow is your best bet. It offers the largest shade range of all the products mentioned, so you are sure to find your perfect shade. If you like precision when it comes to your eyebrows, then the small tip and stiffer texture will give you great control over the final look. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

e.l.f. Instant Lift Brow Pencil
I first tried this pencil years ago, at the height of the Brow Wiz-like pencil phase. Being the trend-follower that I was, I didn’t like it. But now that my penchant for trend following has hit its expiration, I’ve been enjoying the perfect inbetweenness of the tip. It’s not too thick, and not too thin. And I always appreciate when a pencil comes with a built-in spoolie for blending and shaping. Also, the price is unbeatable. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil
Teeny brow pencils are great if you want that perfect, drawn-on eyebrow look. But what if you just want to fill your brows in with a few swipes and call it a morning? The angled and diamond-shaped tip of this pencil give you plenty of options for how you want to define your eyebrow shape. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

NYX Lift & Snatch Brow Tint Pen
Perfecting your brow marker skills take some practice, but once you get the hang of it, products like this one are really fun to use. I feel like such an artist using it. You can fill in your entire brow with this, or do what I do and just use it to define the tail end of my brows. I like my eyebrow tails razor sharp, just like my attitude. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

Maybelline TattooStudio Brow Pomade
I’m so happy that a drugstore brand has finally released more than four shades of brow pomade. I have loved Maybelline’s Tattoo line for years, and I doubt this will be any different. I haven’t personally tried this iteration yet, but it has great reviews on the Target and Ulta websites. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

Milani The Clear Brow Gel
I use this brow gel when I want my brows to look like little glass sculptures stuck on my face. In a good way, I promise! I’ll fill them in with a pomade, and then apply this clear gel on top. And I know my eyebrows aren’t going anywhere. I feel like I could get caught in a hurricane and my brow hairs would still be glued in place. It’s especially helpful if you have brow hairs like mine that like to curl downward at the tails. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara
I reach for this brow gel when I want a small amount of color, but mainly just want my uncivilized eyebrow hairs to stay in their lane. It has good color and good hold. What more could you ask for? | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

e.l.f. Wow Brow Gel
This is a similar option to the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara, but the wand is smaller and more precise. For people with less eyebrow hairs than average, this might be easier to work with. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

HONORABLE MENTION: Ulta Ultra Slim Brow Pencil
This slim brow pencil offers the same precision as the NYX Micro Brow. However the texture is a bit waxier and the color is more blendable. If you like the precision of a skinny pencil but are looking for a more natural-ish result, I recommend this one. | ⇢ READ REVIEWS

I loved the Ulta brow gel and the essence one, but now I LOVE the Colourpop Boss Brow. It works super well for my fluffy brows. It fills in my two sparse spots (one on each brow in different spots).

My holly grail has always been Sonia Kashuk Longwear Eye Definer Pencil in taupe. Unfortunately they discontinued it and i haven’t been able to find anything even close to the same as that since… I try new products anytime i run out of one that cuts it just enough… and i always have a backup Anastasia Beverly Hills pencil in a couple shades too dark or a very waxy wooden NXY pencil in my genuine color for back up.
