Perhaps you have a holy grail eyebrow product. Perhaps this product contains 0.003 oz worth of pencil and cost $21. I’m not naming names.
We all know that “eyebrows frame your face,” and that we should apparently spare no expense when it comes to grooming them. There has to be a more economical way.
After that-brand-that-shall-not-be-named suddenly made everyone obsess over their eyebrows, drugstore eyebrow products started popping up, and they were… not great. It took a while for drugstore brands to hit their stride, but now there is a good selection of quality eyebrow products for much less money than the godmother of eyebrows is asking for.
These are my top picks from the drugstore to keep your eyebrows looking in tip-top-shape!
NYX Micro Brow Pencil // If you want the ultimate dupe, then NYX Micro Brow is your best bet. It offers the largest shade range of all the products mentioned, so you are sure to find your perfect shade. If you like precision when it comes to your eyebrows, then the small tip and harder texture will give you great control.
Essence Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel // I reach for this brow gel when I want a small amount of color, but mainly just want my uncivilized eyebrow hairs to stay in their lane. It has good color and good hold. What more could you ask for?

Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade // I’m so happy that a drugstore brand has finally released more than four shades of brow pomade. I have loved Maybelline’s Tattoo line for years, and I doubt this will be any different. I haven’t personally tried this one yet, but it has great reviews on the Target and Ulta websites.
Covergirl Micro-Fine + Define Pencil // This is a newer drugstore eyebrow product option, once again coming for brand-that-shall-not-be-named. The downside is that the pencil only comes in three shades right now, but people don’t seem to mind. The pencil is creamy and glides on like a dream, but it isn’t so soft that it smudges or breaks during application.
Makeup Revolution Brow Pomade // Another long-lasting eyebrow pomade option. Makeup Revolution, (or is it just Revolution, now?) is stepping it up when it comes to long wearing products. A common compliment in the reviews is how long the product wears without smudging, even on oily skin.

Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil // Teeny brow pencils are perfect if you want that perfect, drawn-on eyebrow look. But what if you just want to fill them in with a few swipes and call it a morning? The diamond-shaped angled tip of this pencil give you plenty of options for how you want to define your eyebrow shape.
NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel // I use this brow gel when I want my brows to look like little glass sculptures stuck on my face. I’ll fill them in with a pomade, and then apply this clear gel on top. And I know my eyebrows aren’t going anywhere. I feel like I could get caught in a hurricane and my brow hairs would still be glued in place. It’s especially helpful if you have brow hairs like mine that like to curl downward at the tails.
L’Oréal Brow Stylist Definer // I have used this brow pencil off and on for several years now, and I think it is another great option. For me, none of the three shades are perfect, but the formula is spot-on. Not too hard, not too soft, and stays in place all day.
That’s all for today!
