You know that feeling when you’re in love, and you just want to shout from the rooftops? That’s me with E.l.f. face brushes.

I have something very exciting for you today, and that is my long-awaited E.l.f brush collection. I have been meaning to do this post forever, but it’s been difficult because I use these brushes every single day and so I really had to make a point to gather them all up, clean them, and photograph them. First world problems, I know.

Spoiler alert: I absolutely love these brushes. If all you need to know is whether I would recommend these brushes, then there you go. (No, this post is not sponsored.) As you may have noticed, I really like to use my Coastal Scents eyeshadows for eyeshadow tutorials. And I don’t have any plans to discontinue that trend.

I am sure many others can vouch for the fact that one tends to be partial to the personalized palettes because each color was selected individually for a specific reason, unlike most pre-made palettes where there are at least a couple of shades that you’re not too keen on.

I really want to talk about these is because there is a real lack of information about the Coastal Scents Hot Pots online. I’m unsure if few people buy these or if people just don’t care to write about them, but when  I was researching before making my own purchase, I was frustrated by the lack of good reviews. In many cases, I am able to decide just based on a variety of reviews whether or not I will like a product, but that wasn’t the case with these.

So I decided to dive in and give them a try.

Today we’re comparing the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and the original Beauty Blender Sponge!

Since the original Beauty Blender debuted, there have been countless attempts to replicate it. Honestly, none of the “dupes” came anywhere close to the quality and effectiveness of the Beauty Blender. I cannot vouch for the suckiness of all the replicas because I have not used them all. In fact, the only one I have used is the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge that is sold at Target.

Target, I love you, but why would you sell that thing? I remember the material being very dense, and it tended to push the product around on the skin and soak it up rather than blend it evenly. One day, after using it and hating it for roughly the 39th time, (I like to give things a fair shot, 🙂 the little blue sponge took a dive into the toilet (accidentally), and that was it’s dishonorable discharge from my life.

I never purchased another Beauty Blender “dupe” again.
