I’ve realized just how long I’ve been raving about the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen without actually telling you what it’s all about.
That’s about to change. Wonder no more!
Today, my friends, we’re learning all about the wonders of the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen.
It’s quite amazing actually.
This super unique product is something you don’t see everyday, yet is such genius idea that I constantly wonder why more brands don’t follow suit.
I honestly don’t know how I lived without the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen all this time.
To hear me rave some more, and see where you can get your hands on one, keep reading.

E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen — Price & Availability
So here’s the thing, these are getting increasingly difficult to find. I used to purchase the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pens at my local Target, but one day they just disappeared. I haven’t seen them in any drugstore in my area since then.
I ordered mine directly from elfcosmetics.com, after waiting several weeks for them to come back in stock. As of the date of this post, the pens are available. I am assuming there was some sort of manufacturing issue, which is why they went MIA for a while.
The pens sell for $3.00 on elfcosmetics.com, though they may be priced slightly higher or lower if you purchase them at a drugstore. While they were unavailable, I noticed sellers on Amazon asking for upwards of $20.00 for three pens. Please do not buy from those people.

The sleek packaging makes it perfect for travel and on the go touch-ups
The convenient packaging and design is really what makes the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen special. Thanks to durable tube and securely snapping cover, the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pens are seriously up for anything.
They fill a void where using your average makeup remover and cotton swab method leaves much to be desired. Instead of carrying two products, you carry one. Instead of taking the extra steps of dipping the cotton swab and fumbling the makeup remover lid, all you do is pull off the cap and go. And instead of worrying about cleaning up drips and melting away perfectly good surrounding makeup, you just swipe and forget it.
Marker tip is precise and easy to control
If you’ve ever used a cotton swab soaked in makeup remover, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. The tip gets floppy and you end up removing much more than you intended. Then, you have a drip trailing down your face, carving a canyon in your makeup as it goes. Ugh. It’s for these reasons that I vehemently disparage this technique.
The E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen features a stiff tip that is only ever so slightly dampened with product. It’s just like a regular colored marker, except it removes color instead of depositing it.
The tip doesn’t bend or spread when pressed against your skin, so you can really press and drag in order to get a clean line. No fuzzy edges here. Since it comes to a fine point, you can be sure that it only removes the makeup you want removed.
Non-greasy feel minimizes mess and clean-up
Some makeup removers are super greasy, which makes it difficult to reapply makeup over the same area. If you’ve ever had to wrestle with your winged liner, then surely you know what I mean. The formula is very minimally oily, yet it still removes even waterproof mascara very easily.
When you’re done, any excess is easily dabbed away with a tissue. Apply a bit of powder to dry the area, and you’re off on your next attempt.
Gentle formula is safe for delicate eye areas
One thing to note is that the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen does contain parabens; five of them to be exact. All five are listed at the very end of the ingredients list, so they are not present in high concentrations, but they are there. If you are sensitive to parabens, test the product somewhere inconspicuous, (preferably not on your face,) before use.
However, I’ve never had any issues with irritation or burning due to the product. E.l.f. claims the Makeup Remover Pen is infused with Vitamin E, Cucumber, and Chamomile to soothe the skin. I’m no skincare expert, but the formula seems pretty soothing to me.
It also has no scent, a plus for those of us sensitive to harsh smells.
Product lasts a decent amount of time with proper care
You may worry that the pens will dry up too quickly, but that really isn’t the case as long as you take proper care. Obviously, always replace the cap when not in use, and store in a cool, dry place. You know, the usuals.
As you use it, the tip does collect product pigmentation. After each use, simply wipe off the tip to prevent it from gunking up, and you should be good to go. Even with a completely blackened tip, the remover works just as well, and only a minimal amount of color transfers back onto you skin. Any color that transfers wipes away with a tissue, and never causes any staining.
According to E.l.f.’s website, the felt tip is reversible. When the tip gets dirty, they say to simply take it out and turn it around. I’ve personally never done this, so I can’t speak to it, but I definitely will try it at some point.
Tons of uses, not limited to fixing eyeliner
Fixing winged liner disasters is the most obvious use for the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen, but you can do so much more than that.
I’m seemingly incapable of applying mascara like an adult, and I always end up getting it all over my lids and lower lash line. When that happens, simply dab over the mascara spots very lightly. This removes just the mascara surprisingly well, and leaves the eyeshadow underneath mostly in tact. If you do need to touch up, it’ll be very minimal. Unless you completely go ham, you’ll never have to redo your eyeshadow because of mascara smudges again.
It’s also great for sharpening the lines around your lips and around your brows without adding an additional layer of concealer.
Beauty hack alert! If you notice your makeup looks cakey in one spot, such as where you’ve tried to cover a blemish, try rubbing the side of the pen lightly over the area. This removes a small amount of makeup, and you can then blend over the area with a sponge. If more coverage is necessary, just be more careful this time. 😉
It’s no surprise, I highly recommend the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen
I honestly can’t imagine that any makeup lover will dislike the E.l.f. Makeup Remover Pen. Everything about it is just perfect.
The packaging, the applicator, the formula, and the price all can’t be beat.
If you haven’t tried it out, go ahead and do it. I can almost promise you won’t regret it!

Cool post.
I first heard about this product on Youtube but i didn’t buy it because I thought a q-tip and makeup remover would do the same thing. Well, it doesn’t. This remover pen is so much more precise and doesn’t make a mess of all my hard work that I don’t want disturbed. I recommend it to anyone who asks! Steph xo
