Mascara is either really good or really bad. Why is there no in-between?
It’s kind of hit or miss. You never really know how a mascara will work out for you until you try it for real at home, using the wand the brand intended, all day long. It’s a struggle.
What’s worse than dropping serious cash on a high-end mascara, only for it to not work? Nothing, really.
Drugstore mascaras basically alleviate that issue. They aren’t too expensive, and if you shop at places like Walgreens (#notsponsored) you can actually return anything you don’t like. It’s a win-win.
These are my top 10 mascaras you can find at the drugstore. These are awesome.
L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara // If you haven’t heard about this mascara by now, where have you been? It’s pink, it’s pretty, as tons of people say is a dupe (but better) for Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. I haven’t tried that one, so I wouldn’t know, but I do know I looove this mascara! It makes my lashes long and fluttery and never clumpy. It’s the best.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara // A great everyday-eye formula for me. While this one doesn’t provide as much definition as the Lash Paradise, it’s one of those that you can just throw on one coat and look great heading out the door.
Covergirl Super Sizer Fibers Mascara // We all know how I feel about this one, so I won’t continue the gush-fest here. Check out some of my recent makeup posts and play “Spot the infatuation.” Basically, fiber mascaras are wonderful things. They add length, volume, and just give you that dramatic fake eyelashes look without having to go through the hassle.
L’Oréal Voluminous Original Mascara // An oldie but a goodie! Personally, I think L’Oréal outdid themselves with Lash Paradise, but this is still a really great mascara. If you’re a classics lover, then this is about as classic as it gets.
Maybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Mascara // Another old favorite that never goes out of style. This mascara was my favorite for a long time, and I still think it’s a fabulous option if you’re looking for a nice lift and curl to your lashes!
Covergirl LashBlast Volume Mascara // Volume, volume, volume! I want it all when it comes to mascara, and sometimes just one won’t cut it. I use this old reliable mascara when I want extra volume without worrying about clumps. It layers very well, and I often top it with a lengthening mascara to give it that little extra boost.
L’Oréal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara // I feel like a butterfly wearing this mascara! The super unique wand really gets the product down close to your lash line so your eyes look really deep and sultry. Hopefully that makes some kind of sense. I definitely end up looking like I have falsies on, which is what I want.
Maybelline Lash Discovery Waterproof Mascara // Why do waterproof mascaras suck so much? I don’t wear waterproof mascara often, but when I do, this is what I go for. Plus, the small and slim wand makes it great for your lower lashes so you don’t get product everywhere.
Almay One Coat Thickening Mascara // For sensitive eyes, this mascara works well. My mom has very sensitive eyes, and so she can’t wear just any mascara because she’ll end up looking like she’s been battling a head cold for a week. This is one of the few mascaras that doesn’t irritate her eyes, but still provides nice length and definition for a pretty, natural look.
Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara // I just have to throw this one in here! If you’re on a budget, pick up this mascara over anything else in the under $4 price range. It offers big lashes for not a big chunk of change. Highly recommended.
That’s all for today!
