Accessorizing is totally fun… except when you’re in a hurry. Then it’s not so fun.
By now we all know that accessories make your outfit. These simple little extras are capable of transforming your everyday uniform into a chic look in the blink of an eye.
Unfortunately, accessorizing does take a bit of thought to get right. Oftentimes our mornings simply don’t allow for it. BUT that doesn’t mean we must resign ourselves to tossing on our daily garb and slumping out the door with no trinkets to put a spring in our steps!
These five items make up my Accessorizing Uniform. When I’m in a hurry, or just feeling uninspired, these items are what I reach for. They match one another, and more importantly they match pretty much any outfit I’m wearing.
See what accessories I rely on to keep me looking polished in a hurry. Maybe you’ll get in inspired to create your own “accessories uniform” too! Let’s go.
Gold (or silver) layering necklaces
Lir Mizrahi Gold Filled Layered Disk Necklace // I love adding necklaces to dress up my décolleté area. When I don’t have time to ponder my options, I throw on a simple gold medallion pendant. You can’t go wrong with this dainty choice, and it never looks overdone. I love this one because the texture makes it look a bit rustic and not too perfect, but it still looks simple and sophisticated. [Updated]

Geerier You’re Pretty Sweet Pineapple Pendant Necklace // If I want a little more, I layer on a slightly shorter necklace. Personally, I go for a smaller pendant that has a bit of funkiness to it. I feel spunky and cool without looking totally wild from afar. I’ve been loving this darling pineapple pendant lately; it matches my pineapple watch from H&M. [Updated]

Chic metal watch
Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Mesh Strap Watch // I don’t know what it is about watches that elevates any look. I swear I could be wearing workout gear and if I add a watch, I’m ready for a business meeting. Okay, not really, but still there’s something so grown up about wearing a simple and stylish watch. Select one with a metal band and a simple face for the ultimate bling and cool factor. [Updated]

Chanel-esque leather handbag
Tory Burch ‘Fleming’ Convertible Shoulder Bag // There’s just something so timeless about the classic Chanel handbag look. Even if Chanel is out of your price range, (I know it’s out of mine,) you can totally achieve the look, no fakes required. I recently purchased this gorgeous bag from Tory Burch, and it transforms even the most basic look into something you’d see walking around in Paris. There’s no simpler way to feel glamorous in your everyday outfits, IMO.

Small gold or silver hoop earrings
Argento Vivo Small Curved Hoop Earrings // Just the smallest amount of bling really brightens up your face. Earrings aren’t my favorite things to think about, so I like having a pair that matches with basically everything. Small hoops (in whichever color best matches your complexion) complement any outfit and are appropriate no matter where you are headed. Just the smallest amount of bling really brightens up your face.

Nude low-heeled mules
Madewell The Harper Mule // Nothing ruins an outfit faster than the wrong shoes. When I a) don’t feel like spending brainpower on my shoe choice, or b) can’t afford to be limping and wincing in pain from torturous footwear, I go for these nude low-heeled mules. Whenever you start thinking about wearing those old, ratty sneakers, step into these instead. (Unless you’re going hiking, in that case please be practical.) This pair comes in several colors to match different skin tones, and the low heel and pointy toe are totally on-trend. [Updated]
