The perfect little summer capsule wardrobe.
The older I get, the more I realize that I don’t like to think about what I am wearing very much. It’s not that I don’t like looking put together- it’s that I hardly want to put any effort into looking put together. Talk about being that entitled one who always wants something for nothing!
The beauty of these capsule wardrobes is that every item matches everything else, so there is no way you can end up with a mismatched outfit. You could literally grab a couple of items in the dark and you would still end up with a good outfit. That’s exactly what a lazy girl like me needs.
What is this capsule good for? Ok, so in real life, 12 items of clothing isn’t enough to survive with. I’m not suggesting that this capsule wardrobe is all that you need. However, I think it is all that you need when it comes to seasonal or “on trend” clothing items.
Use as an addition to your All Year Basics Capsule Wardrobe ➢ I keep my classic staples in rotation all year, and I use these mini seasonal capsules as fun additions to the basics. Supplementing my basics with a separate mini capsule rather than random items that I like ensures that I will get the most wear out of everything since it all matches. There is no use in owning an item that you like, but that clashes with everything else in your wardrobe so it’s impossible to wear.

White Puff Sleeve Blouse // A slightly dressy blouse that can be worn casually or elevated for an evening look or business casual.
Cream Blousy Camisole // A crepe camisole with added button detail in a neutral cream or beige.
Black Crop Top // Ribbed crop top that ends slightly above where high-waisted bottoms land on you. Can be substituted with a longer black tank top if crop tops aren’t your thing.
Black Graphic Tee // A casual tee that will give each of your bottoms a casual vibe. I chose this one because the specks of red and blue tie in with my other pieces. (And I just like Friends.)
Red Floral Midi Skirt // A midi skirt is comfortable and flattering on every body type. The ruffle detail and small floral print make it cute for summer without looking overpowering.
Cream Linen Flowy Pants // These pants give those cozy summer “resort wear” vibes thanks to the light color and linen material. Perfect for when you need to wear actual pants but can’t stand the idea of wearing jeans.
Cream Dressy Lace Shorts // I love these dressy shorts because they give a feminine skirt-like look without the annoyance of an actual mini-skirt. Perfect for brunch or warm evenings out.
High Waisted Denim Shorts // Of course, it wouldn’t be summer without denim shorts. I went with a non-distressed pair for this summer capsule wardrobe to fit with the resort wear style.
Boxy Denim Jacket // This denim jacket is cropped and more contemporary than a usual denim jacket.
Beige Short Sleeve Blazer // A short sleeve wrap blazer gives an upscale and professional look to otherwise casual outfits without making you die of heatstroke in the summer.
Warm Beige Grandpa Cardigan // A neutral and soft cardigan is great to just throw on, day or night.
Coral or Red Midi Dress // Wear the dress alone or layer one of the tops over it to turn it into a “skirt.”
Embellished Sandals // These have a slight platform but no heel, and so they are extremely easy to wear while still adding sparkle and dressiness to your outfits.
Black Pointy Toe Flats // Pointy-toe shoes, (and not to mention the chic faux-crocodile texture,) instantly elevate an outfit to professional levels, but you can still walk around all day wearing them.
White Straw Tote Bag // A casual option with plenty of space for errands or a spontaneous beach trip.
Natural Woven Handbag // The juxtaposition of the classic silhouette with the casual woven texture makes for a pretty and interesting addition to any outfit.
Tortoise Sunglasses // Keeping with the natural theme here, tortoise sunglasses it is!
Funky Fruit Hair Pins // Sort of goes along with the natural theme, don’t you think? I love the warm color scheme and the funkiness of wearing something as unexpected as fruit in your hair.
